मात्रास्पर्शास्तु कौन्तेय शीतोष्णसुखदुःखदाः ।
आगमापायिनोऽनित्यास्तांस्तितिक्षस्व भारत ॥२- १४॥

maatraasparshaastu kaunteya shiitoShNasukhaduHkhadaaH ।

aagamaapaayino'nityaastaaMstitikShaswa bhaarata ॥२- १४॥

O son of Kunti, contacts with matter yield cold, heat, contentment, suffering,
Transient, fleeting, impermanent. Endure them, O scion of Bharat.

The contacts of the senses with the sense objects give rise to the feelings of heat and cold, and pain and pleasure. They are transitory and impermanent. Therefore, (learn to) endure them, O Arjuna.
