कालोऽस्मि लोकक्षयकृत्प्रवृद्धो
: लोकान्समाहर्तुमिह प्रवृत्तः ।
ऋतेऽपि त्वां न भविष्यन्ति सर्वे
: येऽवस्थिताः प्रत्यनीकेषु योधाः ॥११- ३२॥
श्रीभगवानुवाच
कालोऽस्मि लोकक्षयकृत्प्रवृद्धो
: लोकान्समाहर्तुमिह प्रवृत्तः ।
ऋतेऽपि त्वां न भविष्यन्ति सर्वे
: येऽवस्थिताः प्रत्यनीकेषु योधाः ॥११- ३२॥

kaalo'smi lokakShayakRRitprawRRiddho
: lokaansamaahartumiha prawRRittaH ।
ऋte'pi twaaM na bhawiShyanti sarwe
: ye'wasthitaaH pratyaniikeShu yodhaaH ॥११- ३२॥

The Blessed Lord said,
I am time, mighty destroyer of worlds,
Occupied with devouring these worlds.
Even without you, all shall cease to exist,
Warriors who are arrayed in the opposing army.

The Supreme Lord said: I am death, the mighty destroyer of the world, out to destroy. Even without your participation all the warriors standing arrayed in the opposing armies shall cease to exist.
The Blessed Lord said: Time I am, destroyer of the worlds, and I have come to engage all people. With the exception of you [the Pandavas], all the soldiers here on both sides will be slain.
