श्रीभगवानुवाच
काम्यानां कर्मणां न्यासं संन्यासं कवयो विदुः ।
सर्वकर्मफलत्यागं प्राहुस्त्यागं विचक्षणाः ॥१८- २॥
श्रीभगवानुवाच
काम्यानां कर्मणां न्यासं संन्यासं कवयो विदुः ।

shriibhagawaanuwaacha
kaamyaanaaM karmaNaaM nyaasaM saMnyaasaM kawayo widuH ।
sarwakarmaphalatyaagaM praahustyaagaM wichakShaNaaH ॥१८- २॥

The blessed lord said,
The setting aside of intentional work is called renunciation by the wise.
The relinquishment of all fruits of action is called relinquishment by true seers.

The Supreme Lord said: The sages call Samnyasa the renunciation of selfish work. The wise define Tyaaga as the renunciation of attachment to the fruits of all work. (See also 5.01, 5.05, and 6.01)
The Supreme Lord said, To give up the results of all activities is called renunciation [tyaga] by the wise. And that state is called the renounced order of life [sannyasa] by great learned men.
