swabhaawaniyataM karma kurwannaapnoti kilbiSham ॥१८- ४७॥

Translation

One's own duty, imperfect, is more beneficial than another's duty, done well.
Death in one's own duty is more beneficial than another's duty bringing danger.

Translation

One's inferior natural work is better than superior unnatural work. One who does the work ordained by one's inherent nature (without selfish motives) incurs no sin (or Karmic reaction). (See also 3.35)

Translation

It is better to engage in one's own occupation, even though one may perform it imperfectly, than to accept another's occupation and perform it perfectly. Prescribed duties, according to one's nature, are never affected by sinful reactions.
