अधर्मं धर्ममिति या मन्यते तमसावृता ।
सर्वार्थान्विपरीतांश्च बुद्धिः सा पार्थ तामसी ॥१८- ३२॥

Transliteration

adharmaM dharmamiti yaa manyate tamasaawRRitaa ।

sarwaarthaanwipariitaaMshcha buddhiH saa paartha taamasii ॥१८- ३२॥

Translation

The intellect which considers the undutiful as dutiful, obscured by darkness,
And all subjects contrarily, that, O Partha, is tamasic.

Translation

O Arjuna, the intellect which, obscured by ignorance, accepts Adharma as Dharma and thinks everything to be which it is not, that is Taamasika intellect.

Translation

That understanding which considers irreligion to be religion and religion to be irreligion, under the spell of illusion and darkness, and strives always in the wrong direction, O Partha, is in the mode of ignorance.
