असक्तबुद्धिः सर्वत्र जितात्मा विगतस्पृहः ।
नैष्कर्म्यसिद्धिं परमां संन्यासेनाधिगच्छति ॥१८- ४९॥

Transliteration

asaktabuddhiH sarwatra jitaatmaa wigataspRRihaH ।

naiShkarmyasiddhiM paramaaM saMnyaasenaadhigachChati ॥१८- ४९॥

Translation

[One] with unattached intellect, always restrained, devoid of desire,
By renunciation progresses toward the supreme achievement: freedom from the bondage of action.

Translation

The person whose mind is always free from attachment, who has subdued the mind and senses, and who is free from desires, attains the supreme perfection of freedom from (the bondage of) Karma through renunciation.

Translation

One can obtain the results of renunciation simply by self-control and by becoming unattached to material things and disregarding material enjoyments. That is the highest perfectional stage of renunciation.
