शमो दमस्तपः शौचं क्षान्तिरार्जवमेव च ।

Knowledge, wisdom, theism are brahmin acts deriving from [their] character.

Those who have serenity, self control, austerity, purity, patience, honesty, knowledge, Self-realization, and belief in God are labeled as Braahmanas, the intellectuals.
Peacefulness, self-control, austerity, purity, tolerance, honesty, wisdom, knowledge, and religiousness--these are the qualities by which the brahmanas work.
