आरुरुक्षोर्मुनेर्योगं कर्म कारणमुच्यते ।
योगारूढस्य तस्यैव शमः कारणमुच्यते ॥६- ३॥

aarurukShormuneryogaM karma kaaraNamuchyate ।

yogaarooDhasya tasyaiwa shamaH kaaraNamuchyate ॥६- ३॥

For the sage ascending to yoga, action is said to be the impetus.
For one who has attained yoga, quieting the mind is said to be the impetus.

For the wise who seeks to attain yoga (of meditation or the equanimity of mind), Karma-yoga is said to be the means; for the one who has attained yoga, the equanimity becomes the means (of Self-Realization).
