श्रीभगवानुवाच
अनाश्रितः कर्मफलं कार्यं कर्म करोति यः ।
स संन्यासी च योगी च न निरग्निर्न चाक्रियः ॥६- १॥

shriibhagawaanuwaacha

anaashritaH karmaphalaM kaaryaM karma karoti yaH ।

sa saMnyaasii cha yogii cha na niragnirna chaakriyaH ॥६- १॥

The blessed lord said,

Who, unexpectant of the fruits of action, performs actions and duties,

That is the renunciant and yogi, and not the inactive one with no fire.

The Supreme Lord said: One who performs the prescribed duty without seeking its fruit is a Samnyasi and a (Karma) yogi, not the one who merely does not light the sacred fire, and does not work.
