सदृशं चेष्टते स्वस्याः प्रकृतेर्ज्ञानवानपि ।
प्रकृतिं यान्ति भूतानि निग्रहः किं करिष्यति ॥३- ३३॥

sadRRishaM cheShTate swasyaaH prakRRiterdnyaanawaanapi ।

prakRRitiM yaanti bhootaani nigrahaH kiM kariShyati ॥३- ३३॥

Translation

Even the knowledgeable strive according to their own nature.
What can beings controlled by nature do, restrained?

Translation

All beings follow their nature. Even the wise act according to their own nature. What, then, is the value of sense restraint?

Translation

Even a man of knowledge acts according to his own nature, for everyone follows his nature. What can repression accomplish?
