तत्त्ववित्तु महाबाहो गुणकर्मविभागयोः ।
गुणा गुणेषु वर्तन्त इति मत्वा न सज्जते ॥३- २८॥
tattwawittu mahaabaaho guNakarmawibhaagayoH ।
guNaa guNeShu wartanta iti matwaa na sajjate ॥३- २८॥

But knowers of reality, O great-armed one, [are] distinguishers of qualities from actions.
Qualities operate on qualities: so believing, they are not attached.
But those who know what is real, O great-armed one, distinguish qualities from actions. By assuming qualities operate on qualities, they avoid attachment.

The one who knows the truth, O Arjuna, about the role of Guna and action does not get attached to the work, knowing that it is the Gunas that work with their instruments, the organs.
One who is in knowledge of the Absolute Truth, O mighty-armed, does not engage himself in the senses and sense gratification, knowing well the differences between work in devotion and work for fruitive results.
