तयोर्न वशमागच्छेत्तौ ह्यस्य परिपन्थिनौ ॥३- ३४॥

Transliteration

indriyasyendriyasyaarthe raagadweShau wyawasthitau ।

tayorna washamaagachChettau hyasya paripanthinau ॥३- ३४॥

Translation

Of perception-objects, to perception, desire/hatred is unavoidable.
To their power be not attracted. They are obstacles to this.

Perceptions' attraction to—or aversion for—perception-objects is unavoidable. Resist the power of their attraction. They are obstacles to this.

Translation

Raaga and Dwesha (or the attachments and aversions) for the sense objects remain in the senses. One should not come under the control of these two, because they are two stumbling blocks, indeed, on one's path of Self-realization.

Attraction and repulsion for sense objects are felt by embodied beings, but one should not fall under the control of senses and sense objects because they are stumbling blocks on the path of self-realization.
