श्रीभगवानुवाच
काम एष क्रोध एष रजोगुणसमुद्भवः ।
महाशनो महापाप्मा विद्ध्येनमिह वैरिणम् ॥३- ३७॥

shriibhagawaanuwaacha

kaama eSha krodha eSha rajoguNasamudbhawaH ।

mahaashano mahaapaapmaa widdhyenamiha wairiNam ॥३- ३७॥

The blessed lord said,
It is lust, it is anger originating from the quality of rajas.
Greatly voracious, doing great evil, know this to be the foe here.

The blessed lord said,
By lust and by anger, originating from the [foundational] quality of passion. Insatiable and nefarious, know them to be the foe in this case.
