कर्मेन्द्रियाणि संयम्य य आस्ते मनसा स्मरन् ।
इन्द्रियार्थान्विमूढात्मा मिथ्याचारः स उच्यते ॥३- ६॥

Transliteration

karmendriyaaNi saMyamya ya aaste manasaa smaran ।

indriyaarthaanwimooDhaatmaa mithyaachaaraH sa uchyate ॥३- ६॥

Translation

Having restrained action-perceptions, one who continues remembering in the mind
The perception-objects, that foolish soul is called "hypocrite."

One who restrains the perceptions that motivate actions, but continues recalling the objects of perception: That foolish soul is called, "hypocrite."

Translation

The deluded ones, who restrain their organs of action but mentally dwell upon the sense enjoyment, are called hypocrites.

Translation

One who restrains the senses and organs of action, but whose mind dwells on sense objects, certainly deludes himself and is called a pretender.
