इन्द्रियाणि पराण्याहुरिन्द्रियेभ्यः परं मनः ।
मनसस्तु परा बुद्धिर्यो बुद्धेः परतस्तु सः ॥३- ४२॥
इन्द्रियाणि पराण्याहुरिन्द्रियेभ्यः परं मनः ।
मनसस्तु परा बुद्धिर्यो बुद्धेः परतस्तु सः ॥३- ४२॥
indriyaaNi paraaNyaahurindriyebhyaH paraM manaH ।
manasastu paraa buddhiryo buddheH paratastu saH ॥३- ४२॥

The perceptions are called superior; the mind is superior to the senses;
But wisdom is superior to the mind; He is superior to wisdom.
Though the perceptions may be called "superior," the mind is superior to the senses, wisdom is superior to the mind, and He is superior to wisdom.

The senses are said to be superior (to matter or the body), the mind is superior to the senses, the intellect is superior to the mind, and Atma is superior to the intellect.
The working senses are superior to dull matter; mind is higher than the senses; intelligence is still higher than the mind; and he [the soul] is even higher than the intelligence.
