यज्ञशिष्टाशिनः सन्तो मुच्यन्ते सर्वकिल्बिषैः ।
भुञ्जते ते त्वघं पापा ये पचन्त्यात्मकारणात् ॥३- १३॥

yadnyashiShTaashinaH santo muchyante sarwakilbiShaiH ।

bhuJNjate te twaghaM paapaa ye pachantyaatmakaaraNaat ॥३- १३॥

Abstemious consumers of sacrifice remnants are released from all sins.
They consume only evil, those sinners who eat for their own indulgence.

Those who consume the remnants of sacrifice abstemiously are released from all sins. Those who eat for their own indulgence are sinners consuming only evil.

The righteous who eat the remnants of the Yajna are freed from all sins, but the impious who cook food only for themselves (without sharing with others in charity) verily eat sin.
