निमित्तानि च पश्यामि विपरीतानि केशव ।
न च श्रेयोऽनुपश्यामि हत्वा स्वजनमाहवे ॥१-३१॥

nimittaani cha pashyaami wipariitaani keshawa ।

na cha shreyo'nupashyaami hatwaa swajanamaahawe ॥१-३१॥

And I see contrary portents, Keshav,
Nor do I see in the slightest, benefit [from] killing my own people in battle.
