सत्त्वं सुखे संजयति रजः कर्मणि भारत ।
ज्ञानमावृत्य तु तमः प्रमादे संजयत्युत ॥१४- ९॥
sattwaM sukhe saMjayati rajaH karmaNi bhaarata ।
dnyaanamaawRRitya tu tamaH pramaade saMjayatyuta ॥१४- ९॥

Sattva attaches to happiness, rajas to action, O scion of Bharat,
But by concealment of knowledge, tamas attaches to madness, too.
