कर्मणः सुकृतस्याहुः सात्त्विकं निर्मलं फलम् ।
रजसस्तु फलं दुःखमज्ञानं तमसः फलम् ॥१४- १६॥

Transliteration

karmaNaH sukRRitasyaahuH saattwikaM nirmalaM phalam ।

rajasastu phalaM duHkhamadnyaanaM tamasaH phalam ॥१४- १६॥

Translation

The fruit of well-performed actions is said to be sattvic, pure.
But the fruit of rajas is sorrow. Ignorance the fruit of tamas.

Translation

The fruit of good action is said to be Saattvika and pure, the fruit of Raajasika action is pain, and the fruit of Taamasika action is ignorance.

Translation

By acting in the mode of goodness, one becomes purified. Works done in the mode of passion result in distress, and actions performed in the mode of ignorance result in foolishness.
