यज्ञशिष्टामृतभुजो यान्ति ब्रह्म सनातनम् ।
नायं लोकोऽस्त्ययज्ञस्य कुतोऽन्यः कुरुसत्तम ॥४-३१॥

naayaM loko'styayadnyasya kuto'nyaH kurusattama ॥४-३१॥

This world is not for the non-sacrificer. What of another, O best of the Kurus?

Those who perform Yajna obtain the nectar (of knowledge) as a result of their sacrifice and attain eternal Brahman. O Arjuna, even this world is not (a happy place) for the non-sacrificer, how can the other world be? (See also 4.38, and 5.06).
O best of the Kuru dynasty, without sacrifice one can never live happily on this planet or in this life: what then of the next?
