यस्य सर्वे समारम्भाः कामसंकल्पवर्जिताः ।
ज्ञानाग्निदग्धकर्माणं तमाहुः पण्डितं बुधाः ॥४-१९॥

Transliteration

yasya sarwe samaarambhaaH kaamasaMkalpawarjitaaH ।

dnyaanaagnidagdhakarmaaNaM tamaahuH paNDitaM budhaaH ॥४-१९॥

Translation

Whose every enterprise [is] avoidant of desire, lust,
In the fire of knowledge whose obligations are incinerated, that one the wise call "learned."

One whose every enterprise avoids desire and lust, whose obligations are incinerated in the fire of knowledge—that one the wise call "learned."

Translation

A person whose all works are free from selfish desires and motives, and whose all Karma is burned up in the fire of Self-knowledge, is called a sage by the wise.

Translation

One is understood to be in full knowledge whose every act is devoid of desire for sense gratification. He is said by sages to be a worker whose fruitive action is burned up by the fire of perfect knowledge.
