5:6
संन्यासस्तु महाबाहो दुःखमाप्तुमयोगतः ।
योगयुक्तो मुनिर्ब्रह्म नचिरेणाधिगच्छति ॥५- ६॥
saMnyaasastu mahaabaaho duHkhamaaptumayogataH ।
yogayukto munirbrahma nachireNaadhigachChati ॥५- ६॥

But renunciation, O great-armed one, earns suffering without yoga.
The yoga-adherent monk goes to Brahma without delay.

But Samnyasa, O Arjuna, is difficult to attain without Karma-yoga. A Karma-yogi sage quickly attains Brahman. (See also 4.31, and 4.38)
Unless one is engaged in the devotional service of the Lord, mere renunciation of activities cannot make one happy. The sages, purified by works of devotion, achieve the Supreme without delay.
