त्रिविधं नरकस्येदं द्वारं नाशनमात्मनः ।
कामः क्रोधस्तथा लोभस्तस्मादेतत्त्रयं त्यजेत् ॥१६- २१॥
triwidhaM narakasyedaM dwaaraM naashanamaatmanaH ।
kaamaH krodhastathaa lobhastasmaadetattrayaM tyajet ॥१६- २१॥

The three gates to hell, soul-destroying,
Are thus lust, anger, greed. Therefore these three should be relinquished.

Lust, anger, and greed are the three gates of hell leading to the downfall (or bondage) of Jeeva. Therefore, one must (learn to) give up these three.
There are three gates leading to this hell--lust, anger and greed. Every sane man should give these up, for they lead to the degradation of the soul.
